Essential Vitam-R Yeast Extract uses a process that yields a low salt alternative to other yeast brands. Using an autolytic process, the yeast is made using sugar beet molasses and the natural enzymes that occur in the yeast, rather than relying on hydrolysation. This creates a much lower salt content and is completely gluten-free.
