Antioxidant rich turmeric and ginger creamy chai tea

Turmeric Tea Reipe


Serves: 1 | Time: 10 minutes

  • 1 Cup almond or coconut milk
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric
  • 1/2-Inch wide round slice of ginger root, peeled and finely chopped
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 – 1 Tsp local honey or other sweetener
  • Optional additions: a small pat of butter, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper

This turmeric tea is more of a milky chai, all sweet and spicy. It contains turmeric and ginger, the anti-inflammatory cornerstones of the spice world.

You can have this tea any time of the day. But when your muscles are uptight after a long day moving around or after intense exercise at home, it’s great to weave your turmeric tea into your nighttime routine.

How to Make Turmeric Tea

  1. Gently warm the almond or coconut milk on the stove.
  2. In a mug, combine the remaining ingredients.
  3. Drizzle a teaspoon of the warmed milk into the mug and mix until the liquid is smooth with no lumps.
  4. Add the rest of the milk and mix well.
  5. You can leave the pieces of ginger in the tea, or strain it out before drinking.
