1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 dessert spoon milled linseed
1 dessert spoon milled hemp seeds
1 dessert spoon milled chia seeds
1 dessert spoon dessicated coconut
Juice from a slice of lemon
1 chopped apricot
1 chopped fig
handful of raisins and mulberries
A few goji berries
1/4 teaspoon maca
1/2 teaspoon raw cacao powder
1 teaspoon raw cacao nibs
6 strands of saffron
Chunk grated ginger


  • Place all ingredients except the cacao powder and nibs into a bowl and soak overnight in enough water to just cover the dry ingredients.
  • In the morning, dissolve the cacao powder in warm water and add to the bowl.
  • Add the cacao nibs and eat.


This muesli tastes much better if served at room temperature.  Use minimum water for soaking overnight, then you can add more warm in the morning, and I take it out of the fridge first thing and leave for about an hour before eating. It is sometimes hard to wait for so long, but it is worth it! And it’s much better for your body too.

You can adapt this recipe to your heart’s content. Consider adding an ever-changing diversity of nuts, seeds and dried fruit. Another tasty tip is to add the dehydrated pulp from fruit and veg, left over from juicing. You can dehydrate it in a low oven over a long period of time. Delicious and a great way of reducing food waste.
