The traditional production process helps to preserve the beautiful bright green colour and the distinctive fragrance and flavour of the basil. Pesto Genovese is the perfect accompaniment to spaghetti and other pasta dishes. Spread on lightly toasted bread with slices of fresh tomato it makes a tasty and healthy snack. It can also be used to pep up mashed potato, soups, casseroles, and stews.
